Be the difference in the life of a young person…
There are moments in every child’s life that require the wisdom, understanding and guidance of an adult figure: Moments of growth, times of transition, periods of uncertainty.
By devoting just one or two hours a week, an adult can help an innocent child who desperately needs attention and direction.
Best of all, it really isn’t that hard. A mentor needs simply to show up, take an interest, and just be there to provide a stable, positive influence. It’s really about being a friend — a person with whom the young person can share their successes, their failures, their hopes, and their dreams.
You can do this! Our mentors come from all walks of life: Attorneys, retail salespeople, college students, businesspersons, educators, retirees, and every other occupation imaginable.
And in the end, most of VIP’s mentors will say they’ve received more than they’ve given.
